Nuvvula pachadi

1/2 Cup Unpolished Sesame Seeds
3-4 Spicy Red Chillies
1/2 lemon size Ball Tamarind
1/4 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Oil (Sesame Oil Preferred)
Salt to Taste
For Tempering
1 tsp Oil (Sesame Oil Preferred)
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 Split Red Chilly
4-5 Curry Leaves
Making the Andhra Nuvvula Pachadi
In a kadhai, over low flame, heat the sesame oil.

Add sesame seeds and chillies.

Stir-fry till the seeds puff up a bit, become aromatic and change colour.

Turn off the heat, and add tamarind and turmeric.

Grind with a some water and salt till it is a thick paste.

The Tempering
In a ladle, heat the oil.

Add mustard seeds and wait till they crackle.

Add cumin seeds and split red chillies, and stir-fry for a few seconds till they start to change colour.

Turn off the heat and add torn curry leaves to the tempering.

Mix well and add to the Nuvvula Pachadi
