White Pongal

Pressure cook….4 cups rice with 1 cup of moon dal.
(So total 5 cups….add 14 cups of water)
1tsp hing …2tsp pepper powder. Ginger, finely chopped 1 tbsp, 3 green chillies slit…salt..
Let it be cooked for 5 to 6 whistles…
Roast a handful of broken cashews.
Add 10 to 12 tbsp of ghee in a kadai…add 2 tsp of jeera…1 tsp of whole pepper
3 sprigs of curry leaves
Add the above taka and cashews to the cooked rice+ dal….added water for desired consistency. .
Serve with sambar or coconut chutney.
