Sambar with powder
Cook 300 gms of toor dal with haldi 1tsp and 1/2 tsp hing
(Cook well to a paste consistency)
Make a tamarind juice of 1/2 litre from 2 lemon sized tamarind and boil.
Add desired veg….and add in their cooking period order to the boiling tamarind juice..
Eg….first drumstick, then beans, then carrot, and last add brinjal or bottle gourd.
Roast 6 to 8 red chillies, 3 tbsp of daniya seeds, 1 tbsp of black pepper, 1 tsp jeera… . Make a fine powder.
Add 3 tbsp of oil….1 tsp..black mustard , 1 tsp jeera 1/4 tsp of methi seeds…5 sprigs of curry leaves…. add 3 finely chopped tomatoes …added this taka to the veggies with tamarind juice…add salt.
Add the prepared powder…. (save some and add later)
Add the cooked dal…mix well. Add water to the desired consistency. ..garnish with coriander leaves. Add some ghee for flavour.
