Tulasi Saligrama Vivaha – Nov. 4, 2017 The wedding festival of Tulasi-Shaligrama was conducted with great joy on November 4th, 2017. Earlier in the day, the deities were offered a magnificent dress decorated gorgeously with flowers. Tulasi and Shaligrama too were dressed wonderfully giving them life-like appearance. Devotees officiated as parents of Tulasi, parents of Shaligrama and brothers of Tulasi. Others participated very joyfully singing and enjoying the ceremonies. Gifts of kumkum, turmeric and bangles were given to the sumangalis assembled. An enthusiastic and humour filled auction was held for the coconuts used in the wedding. Being born in water Jalandhar claims sovereignty over the ocean and demands the 14 treasures churned out of the ocean in Vishnu’s second incarnation. He declares war and becomes a cause of danger to the demigods. More so because of a boon that he would be free drom death till his wife Vrinda was chaste. Srila Prabhupada Disappearance Day, Oct 23, 2017 The day that Srila Prabhupada ceased to be visible to our mortal eyes as he attained the eternal world of Lord Krishna is celebrated as the Disappearance Day Festival. On this day, devotees gathered at the temple to offer their tributes to Srila Prabhupada. HH Bhanu Maharaj addressed the gathering and extolled the great service spirit of Srila Prabhupada as well as his surrender to the instruction of Guru. About a hundred items had been cooked by the devotees for the bhoga offering. After these were offered to Srila Prabhupada, arati and Pushpanjali were offered.
